StoneMor Partners L.P. Announces the Acquisition of 5 Cemeteries and 4 Funeral Homes in Puerto Rico

LEVITTOWN, Pa., Aug. 18, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- StoneMor Partners L.P. (Nasdaq:STON) announced today that it has acquired 5 cemeteries and 4 funeral homes in Puerto Rico for an aggregate purchase price of $4.6 million. In 2010, these locations performed 1,056 interments and 509 funeral services.

On April 28, 2011, the company announced that it had signed letters of intent to acquire nine cemeteries and ten funeral homes. This acquisition constitutes the closing of a portion of these transactions. Lawrence Miller, President and Chief Executive Officer of StoneMor stated, "We believe that this acquisition will help to strengthen our presence in Puerto Rico and is in line with our on-going growth plans."
